He was born in Mandi Bahauddin, Pakistan and he also spent his early life there. Hasan is brother of another famous cricket player Ata-ur-Rehman. He was passionate about cricket since childhood and it was his dream to become the top bowler of Pakistan. Hasan started playing cricket professionally at the age of 19. He made his debut in cricket in October of 2013 for Sialkot.
Hasan Ali made his international cricket debut in 2016 through One Day International (ODI) for Pakistan team in its match series against Ireland and England. He also played the international Twenty20 match for the first time in September of the same year for Pakistan team against England.
In 2017 Hasan took first five wickets in ODIs against Australia. Hasan was awarded as ‘Man of the Match’ in Twenty20 International Cricket match of Pakistan against West Indies. He was also awarded as ‘Man of the Match’ twice in ODIs of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 in the matches against South Africa and England.
In ICC Champions Trophy 2017 Hasan Ali won golden ball and also ‘Player of the Tournament’ award for picking up 13 wickets in the tournament. He was one of the important players of final match of Pakistan against India in ICC Champions Trophy 2017 where he took three wickets. Hasan Ali played in Pakistan Super League for Peshawar Zalmi and later for Karachi Kings. But he joined Zalmi team again in PSL 2017 and in the series he was ranked as second highest wicket taker by taking 12 wickets in 11 matches.
