At that time he became famous as ‘The Ganderi Boy’ by singing the song ‘Pyar Di Ganderi’ of Naseebo Lal. After that he came into limelight as the lead vocalist and front man of the pop-rock music band ‘SYMT’. Haroon formed this band with his friend Hassan Omer. First single of this band was ‘Zamana’ released in 2011 and this song was nominated in the categories of ‘Best Music Video’ and ‘Best Singer of the Year’ at Lux Style Awards 2011.

Next year this band participated in the music show ‘Coke Studio – Season 5’ and released two songs ‘Tum Kaho’ and ‘Koi Labda’. This band also performed in many other music shows including Levis Sessions and Pepsi Smash. Haroon Shahid appeared again in ‘Coke Studio – Season 9’ in 2016 and sang duet song ‘Baliye’ with Quratulain Balouch. He made his acting debut in 2017 by playing a leading role in the Lollywood film ‘Verna’ along with Mahira Khan as the lead actress. He has done many photo shoots too as a model.
